Call for Applications for Nkabom Sponsorship: McGill University Online Graduate Certificate in Health Data Analytics
The School of Population and Global Health (SPGH) at McGill University invites applications from eligible candidates affiliated with partner institutions in Ghana to participate in the Online Certificate in Health Data Analytics, offered as part of the Nkabom Collaborative.
Through the Nkabom Collaborative, selected candidates will receive full sponsorship to enroll in this program. The Online Certificate in Health Data Analytics is designed to strengthen participants’ capacity to manage, analyze, and interpret health science data. The program consists of five online courses (15 credits total) delivered over approximately 10 months, with participants completing the certificate by June. The program is particularly suited for students and professionals with a quantitative or science background.
Applicants must hold at least a bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or science-related field. Courses are delivered fully online and asynchronously, allowing participants to learn at their own pace through short, recorded lectures, exercises, and assignments. Weekly assignments ensure steady progress through the program.

Application process for Nkabom sponsorship
- For the 2026 intake, applications for Nkabom-sponsored positions will follow a two-stage process:

- Applicants will be required to submit:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Academic transcripts
- Statement of interest
- Referee details (name, affiliation, and contact information)
- Stage 1: Nkabom pre-application (initial screening) Interested candidates must first apply through a Nkabom pre-application process using the following application link Nkabom Application – McGill Online Certificate in Health Data Analytics (2026–2027) – Fill out form
Referees will be required to submit a confidential letter of reference directly to the SPGH-Nkabom program email address nkabom.spgh@mcgill.ca. Instructions are provided in the application form.
All applications will be reviewed by the SPGH-Nkabom team to assess eligibility, alignment with program objectives, and overall suitability.
Additional Nkabom sponsorship eligibility criteria Applicants must:
- Be a resident of Ghana
- Be 35 years old or younger at the time of application
Demonstrate interest in applying data analytics to public health, nutrition, agri-food systems, or related areas relevant to the Nkabom Collaborative
Stage 2: Formal McGill application
The application documents of the shortlisted candidates from the pre-application stage will be forwarded to the program admissions committee.
At this stage:
- Applications will be reviewed by the program admissions committee
Candidates who meet admission requirements will be considered for Nkabom sponsorship.
- Program application deadline: June 30, 2026
Program start date: August 31, 2026.
Applications will first be screened through the Nkabom pre-application process. Shortlisted candidates will then proceed to the formal McGill review process. Final admission decisions will be made by the program admissions committee, after which selected candidates will be awarded Nkabom scholarship support.
