Who we Are

The Nkabom Collaborative envisions a transformation of Ghana’s Agri-Food system led by empowered young people. By creating educational opportunities, providing access to training programs, especially for underserved groups, and enhancing capacity through entrepreneurship, we aim to leverage the untapped potential of Ghana's youth in enhancing Ghana’s Agri-Food system. We recognize the untapped potential of Ghana’s agri-food systems and the opportunity presented by youth unemployment to turn the tide.

Our Pillars

At UG, the Nkabom Collaborative’s work is structured 
around three core themes that define its activities. We call these our Strategic Objective Pillars. 
Each pillar has its defined objectives and set of activities to execute. 

Education

The Education Pillar focuses on offering experiential learning opportunities for youth that promote climate-smart, indigenous, and nutrition-rich agri-food practices, and are rooted in community-based research and innovation.

The Nkabom entrepreneurship bootcamp has broadened my mind as to the more useful and efficient ways of doing what I want to do.

We wanted to enter into business and it was as if you will have to get all of it done before starting the business. The bootcamp really showed me to start with whatever I have; start small while thinking big.

Before I entered into the Nkabom bootcamp, when I heard agribusiness, I thought of produce from farm to table. But after my experience, I realized that agribusiness is very vast. It is a field of many opportunities. Now when I hear agribusiness, I hear agribusiness, I hear the nation’s development, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and that is because the supply chain is very vast.

Before I came to Nkabom I had an idea but I didn’t really know how to refine the idea. Through Nkabom, I was able to refine my idea and I hope to bring it to the market very soon.

Nkabom has shaped the way that I think about my business. Through the bootcamp, I was able to meet many people in my field of interest. I have been able to gain advice on how to go about my business. The mistakes they made, I wouldn’t repeat those mistakes
